The “Mission Solutions” division focuses on the integration and networking of digital and (partial)autonomous solutions into existing and new military mission solutions. It identifies and implements cross-platform digital mission solutions, in particular the conception/integration of unmanned systems into modern mission solutions being a focus of the department. As Head of Department (m/w/d), you take over the overall responsibility for the strategic, operational and financial performance of the Department and ensure sustainable achievement in line with the corporate strategy. These include the control of all results, resources and value creation processes, as well as the continuous development of the responsibility area and the KNDS partner ecosystem in this technology field. In this function, you develop and implement the strategy of the Department, derive concrete objectives, roadmaps and initiatives and actively promote cross-departmental cooperation at top management level. In addition, you identify growth, innovation and efficiency potentials and make a significant contribution to the further development of the business sector The area of responsibility also includes budget, cost and investment planning, including forecasting and prioritisation of strategic investments within the approved framework conditions. Ensure compliance with financial requirements, internal control mechanisms and economic and efficient use of funds. The role also includes responsibility for defining, controlling and developing relevant KPI systems. Deviations can be detected at an early stage and take appropriate measures to achieve them. At the same time, you promote a performance-oriented corporate culture with clear responsibilities and high earnings orientation. Another focus is the leadership and further development of the organization. You are responsible for the management team's orientation and the development of employees, promote talent and succession planning and create efficient structures, processes and decision-making. In addition, you will ensure stable, efficient and regular operations within the department. Risks are identified, evaluated and controlled by appropriate measures. At the same time, you ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and internal requirements as well as the promotion of integrity and compliance. Within your area of responsibility, you have appropriate decision and drawing powers and initiate all necessary measures to achieve the defined objectives. Participation / cooperation in international work bodies / events and cooperation in internal product and technology strategies.

For this demanding management task, you have a completed university degree (master or diploma) in the field of engineering, such as computer science, electrical engineering or systems engineering, or a comparable qualification. In addition, you bring many years of professional and leadership experience in a leading role within a complex industrial or technology environment. Very good knowledge of strategic business management and sound business knowledge are expected. You have experience in managing complex programs and projects, ideally in the international environment, as well as a strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks. Their mode of operation is structured, analytical and consistent. Complex issues prepare for different stakeholders to the top management level. In addition, you are convinced by a strong leadership, a high degree of decision-making and enforcement, as well as by integration and cooperation. A sovereign appearance, very good communication and presentation skills as well as intercultural competence complete your profile. High resilience, sense of responsibility, integrity and a pronounced readiness to travel are assumed. Lastly you have very good German and English skills, other languages of advantage.
