Senior System Administrator (m/f/d)

As an experienced Senior System Administrator (m/w/d), you are responsible for the stable, secure and performant operation of our server, network and infrastructure environments in our data centers. You install, configure and manage complex Linux-based system landscapes as well as the associated virtualization, network and firewall infrastructure. Together with the Admin Team, you will take over the technical ownership of central platforms and infrastructure components and will be responsible for their safe, stable and sustainable development – including patch, vulnerability and backup and restore concepts. You analyze disturbances and performance problems independently, identify causes and move safely into structured incident, change and problem management processes. You are also a competent partner for our workplace infrastructure and supports demanding technical questions. You're the first to be able to obtain reliable operating documentation, operating concepts, authorization and architecture overviews, and thus to ensure traceable technical standards. The technical support and support of our internal systems are also part of your responsibility. You play an active role in infrastructure and software projects – from architecture and operating concepts to technical implementation – and act as a savings partner for management, development, information security and specialist areas. You actively contribute your experience to the team, share knowledge and support the development of technical standards and processes.

You have successfully completed your studies in computer science, mathematics or natural sciences or have a comparable technical training with corresponding professional experience. You have many years of experience in the operation of complex enterprise infrastructures and are used to take technical responsibility, prepare decisions and advise different stakeholders at eye level. We require very good knowledge in the field of Linux administration, especially Ubuntu. In addition, you bring deep experience in several of the following areas: Network Administration and Routing (IPv4) Firewall configuration and IT security Proxmox o PostgreSQL Tomcat and/or nginx Monitoring solutions like Check_MK

Knowledge of python and bash scripting as well as automation of operating processes are advantageous. You bring experience in the safe operation of productive systems and have a good understanding of IT basic protection, audit/compliance requirements, IAM/justification models as well as security and vulnerability management. You work analytically, structured and self-responsibility and keep an overview even in critical situations. A high level of quality, a sense of responsibility and joy in the operation of modern and future-oriented systemic landscapes are what distinguishes you. Teamwork, knowledge sharing and a pragmatic hands-on mentality are of course for you. The reliable operation of productive systems is of course for you — this also includes the willingness to participate in a regulated 24/7 readiness. You have very good knowledge of German (at least C1) and good knowledge of English in word and writing.
