RESEARCH ASSISTANT - Hydrogen Technologies

The Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services CML is a research institution of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. In practice-oriented research and development projects, private and public contractors from the areas of port, terminal, shipping and logistics service support the initiation and realization of innovations. The Fraunhofer CML develops and optimizes processes and systems along the maritime supply chain. The realization of climate-neutral, safe and economic processes in the handling of goods in ports requires a variety of technical systems. The Port Technologies group deals with the analysis, modeling, evaluation and optimization of such harbour systems. We support our customers in identifying decarbonization potentials. We develop climate-neutral energy supply concepts for ships as well as terminal handling equipment and support the development and testing of prototypes for customer-related applications.

What you do with us

• They work on innovative projects of applied research on hydrogen applications in maritime logistics
• They deal with hydrogen technologies in refueling processes, standardization and standardization processes as well as the classification processes of novel hydrogen technologies in shipping
• You create test and test concepts as well as roadmaps for standardization, standardization and classification projects
• They support the development of research infrastructure for climate-neutral, maritime logistics
• They identify research gaps, write research applications and support the production of industrial offerings

What you bring

• A scientific university degree (Master / Diploma) with reference to our topics (e.g. environmental engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering)
• Joy in work in a research-oriented environment
• A high affinity for innovative technologies and the willingness to integrate into new topics
• First experience in the fields of hydrogen tanks (or refueling systems for renewable fuels), standardization and standardization of hydrogen technologies or fuel cell systems for shipping is desirable
• A team-oriented, careful and independent working style
• Good German and English in Word and Writing
