Manager (m/w/d) Full time 45478 Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany With cable function 04.09.26 EUR 90 - 110 / year You lead the development of our next drone generation. As Head of UAV Development, you take the overall technical responsibility for our UAV development projects and lead a well-established team of ten to twelve engineers who will grow significantly. You are responsible for several development sectors in parallel – including our new flagship drone eXtended UAV – and work closely with national and international cooperation partners. You can do that You run the UAV development teams professionally and disciplinaryly and build a powerful development organization. You are responsible for the technical implementation of our UAV development projects from system conception, detailed development and integration to flight testing and product maturity. You translate product requirements together with Product Management and Systems Engineering into technical concepts, development goals and system architectures. You control the participating engineering disciplines – aerodynamics, structure, drive, electronics and avionics, embedded software as well as guidance, navigation & control. You ensure sound technical decisions through clear responsibilities, structured design reviews, comprehensible trade-offs and early identification of technical risks. You build professional development, integration, testing and release processes and are responsible for systematic testing from simulation to system integration to ground and flight testing. You tune priorities, resources and development plans with Product Management, Project Management, other departmental management and management. That's what you bring Completed master's degree or doctorate, preferably in aerospace technology or a comparable discipline. Long-standing experience in the development of UAVs, aircraft or comparable complex technical systems – ideally accompanied to flight testing and product maturity. Proven experience in the leadership of interdisciplinary development teams and in technical overall responsibility. Wide technical understanding over several UAV disciplines and the ability to make informed decisions between them. Security in agile ways and in the tax of several parallel development projects with limited resources. Leadership that focuses on enabling, clear responsibilities and accountability instead of micromanagement. High social competence, clarity and sense of responsibility as well as very good German and English.
