As an academic teaching hospital at the University of Cologne, there is a close scientific and clinical connection to the Institute of Pneumology at the University of Cologne. Working where pneumology meets specialized endoscopy Our medical range includes the entire area of pneumology and internal medicine. Particular emphasis is placed on interventional pneumology and endoscopy, thoracic oncology, infectiology, sleep and respiratory medicine, and on the treatment of obstructive and interstitial lung diseases. In our modern endoscopy department, all diagnostic and therapeutic methods of interventional pneumology are carried out. We offer a versatile and highly specialized field of activity with the possibility of actively shaping the further development of modern endoscopic methods. A special focus of the hospital is our DKG-certified lung cancer center LuKS (lung cancer center Uniklinik Köln Solingen), which we operate together with the University Hospital Cologne. A weekly interdisciplinary tumour conference, a molecular tumour board and clinical trials are firmly established. Through close cooperation with clinical cooperation partners and established oncologists, complex multimodal therapy concepts for patients with lung tumors can also be implemented – stationary and outpatient. The outpatient care is carried out, among other things, via an oncological outpatient care as part of the outpatient specialist medical care (ASV) for lung tumors and via our outpatient care center with pre- and post-stationary treatment and individual therapy planning. In addition, the Bethanien Hospital has a certified Weaning Centre with an intensive care unit with 24 beds, an Intermediate Care Station with 6 beds and a modern insulating station with up to 35 beds. The clinic is easily accessible by car via the A3 and A46 as well as by public transport.
