Number: MER0003YQ7 The cell technology is part of the newly created E‐Campus at Untertürkheim, where Mercedes‐Benz bundles all the essential sizes of electric drivetrain development in a central location. The E‐Campus combines battery development, cell production, electrical drive systems as well as adjacent laboratory and test areas under one roof, allowing short paths, fast tuning and a highly integrated development environment. As a pilot production for lithium-ion cells, the cell technology forms the technical centrepiece of this overall network. Here we develop new materials, cell chemistry and manufacturing processes, industrialize plant concepts and create prototypical and standard cells for vehicles of the next generation. At the same time, we are driving forward the optimization and scaling of future cell production processes and thus supporting the technological roadmap of the electric drivetrain. These challenges include: Cooperation in the development and optimization of production and process steps along the cell production chain Support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of test series in the laboratory and technical environment 3D prototype design as well as construction of auxiliary, testing and assembly devices (e.g. using Siemens NX or comparable CAD software) Application of basic knowledge in 3D printing for the production of functional patterns and test tools (FDM/SLA/SLS) Construction, testing and evaluation of manufactured prototypes (e.g. pass sample, function validation) Technical documentation support Coordination with development, planning and operator teams in the context of the E‐Campus and the bundled electro-driven processes The activity can begin from September 2026.
Studies in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering or comparable technical studies Interest in cell production, production technologies and process development Complete technical vocational training desirable Basic knowledge of 3D printing (e.g. FDM, SLA or SLS) First experience with CAD tools (e.g. Siemens NX, SolidWorks) desirable Safe handling of MS Office Structured and independent operation Teamability and good communication skills Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing Please note that your internship at this site must have a prescribed mandatory share.
