Senior Data Engineer – Building Data and Data Integration (m/w/d)

Your tasks: You take the lead in the strategic construction and further development of our operational and analytical data and data integration architecture You choose modern, cloud-ready technologies, introduce them and are responsible for consolidating our data systems You design and implement data pipelines for the integration, transformation and provision of data from various sources In close coordination with the Enterprise Architect and cross-functional teams (e.g. application development, IT operation, Data Science) you create the basis for data-driven decisions You support the implementation of data governance policies and processes to ensure highest data quality and consistency You identify and raise optimization potentials in the existing data landscape As a mentor and coach, share your knowledge with developers and junior data engineers and build data engineering with us You act as a competent consultant for our specialist areas on the subject of data

Your profile: A completed study of Computer Science, Data Science or a comparable subject Multiannual, well-founded professional experience as a data engineer, ideally focusing on data architecture and integration Ideally, you already have experience in the insurance or financial sector Expertise in the design and implementation of data pipelines with technologies such as Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, Iceberg and Data Lakehouse architectures Safe handling of relational and non-relational database systems as well as object storage Good knowledge of data governance and data quality Experience with open source and cloud technologies Practical knowledge in Python or other script languages A strong analytical and structured thinking and working method You are strong in communication and can also convey complex technical connections in a comprehensible manner Your German knowledge is reliable, English is advantageous
