This makes the position

For the establishment and operation of a new psychiatric short-term station in the central hospital of the Hamburg judicial process, we are looking for dedicated care professionals (possibly with FWB psychiatry) with interest in psychiatric care and forensic contexts. In close cooperation with the Department of Justice and Consumer Protection, the Institute for Sexual Research, Sexual Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry of the University Hospital of Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) is headed by a new station with 11 to 14 treatment sites, which closes a decisive supply gap.

The financing is secured by a current Senate decision; the start of the station is planned for 01.09.2026. The initial project duration runs until 28.02.2029, with a regular extension being possible.

This is expected

Cooperation will be conducted in the inter-service tandem

• Nursing care and support of psychiatrically ill people in Hamburg's execution, which can be treated in a stationary manner up to 12 weeks (short-term setting)

• Support for crisis intervention, stabilisation and milieu design

• observation and assessment of mental conditions, in particular:

• during diagnostics

• for new adjustment or conversion of psychotropic medication

• Enge interdisciplinary cooperation with doctors, psychotherapists:inside and other professional groups

• Active participation in the construction, concept development and quality standards of a new station unique in Hamburg

• Promoting a therapeutic, value-estimating and at the same time safety-oriented relationship design

• Instruction of trainees/practice:inside and incorporating new employees:inside

• Participation in internal/external quality assurance

• Participation in training and team development processes

About station

The psychiatric short-term station is aimed at imprisoned people,

• who suffer from acute and subacute mental disorders,
• whose disease does not require external full-stationary treatment,
• in which diagnostics or medication adaptation is necessary,
• which after outpatient treatment are not sufficiently stable for the completion of the rule, or
• waiting for an external psychiatric hospital.

Our cooperation and action is characterised by interprofessionality, mutual support and respectful handling.

We are looking forward to team players with completed training for/for health and (children) nursing staff:in, nursing staff / nursing staff and/or university degree in the dual bachelor's programme Care.

• Psychiatric experience is desirable, but no requirement
• Ideally with specialist training
• Interest in psychiatric care, acute psychiatric and/or forensic fields of work
• Professional handling of challenging situations and mental crises
• Reflectivity, team spirit and a clear nursing attitude

Immunity status

An adjustment is only possible if, according to the applicable (legal and medical) requirements against the measles virus, a complete immunization or Immunity evidence is available. This must be demonstrated by appropriate documents (e.g. vaccination card) before the start of employment.

We offer

• Fair and transparent remuneration according to our contract TVöD/VKA (50,300 € - 62,600 €). The specific grouping within this range depends on qualifications and professional experience. The salary is a full-time job with 38.5 hours per week.
