The union Education and Science, NRW National Association, is looking for a

(unlimited/ full time 37.5 hours a week - part time is possible)

The union Education and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia (GEW NRW) has been strong for its members for 75 years. We are the largest educational union in NRW. As a union, the GEW NRW fights on the political stage for the rights of all those who teach education and shape the educational sector every day, from KiTa to youth assistance and school to vocational education and college. GEW NRW's national law body, consisting of lawyers and lawyers, advises members from the teaching, education and science field in all professional legal matters.

Key tasks: Decisions on legal claims of GEW members Legal advice of the GEW members on matters relating to civil, labour, social, university, collective and professional law As far as free capacity is concerned: takeover of the extrajudicial and judicial representation of members in individual proceedings Preparation of process representations by the legal entities of DGB-Rechtsschutz GmbH Working with information brochures, flyers on legal topics etc. Advice and support of GEW personnel and works councils as well as volunteers in individual case requests (qualified back office) Integration of staff council members into current legal cases Participation in committee meetings of the Legal Protection Unit (H) Training at national, regional and local level, in particular for the members of staff councils and works councils involved in trade union legal protection

We wish: Completed university degree in law and successfully filed first and second state exams Multi-year professional experience Comprehensive expertise in the fields of civil servants, labour, tariff, personnel representation and business constitutional law and the ability to easily convey complex legal questions for members Willingness to cooperate with volunteers and to support the voluntary legal protection bodies Team skills and initiative Structured and independent working within the framework of the common objective Loadability and flexibility Ready for further training Conformity with trade union goals and those of the GEW as well as understanding of legal-political relations In addition to communicative and social skills, team skills, safe handling of electronic media, self-responsibility and a strong interest in educational policy and trade union issues.
