About the project: The project “To stand in dignity” (IWS) – Evaluation of the effectiveness, implementation and cost-efficiency of a peer-led group program for young people with mental illness – is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR, former BMBF) (project term until the end of 2027). This is a multi-centric intervention study to support young people with mental illnesses in child- and youth-psychiatric-psychotherapeutic treatment by IWS in decision-making, stigma management and social integration. As part of the randomized controlled study, participants receive either IWS or, as an active control condition, psychoeducation in addition to the usual treatment (TAU).

From 01.11.2025, the term of the contract is one year, with a view to extension. The work site is located in Ulm in the Public Mental Health section of the Department of Psychiatry II of the University of Ulm (Head of Sections and General Project Management Prof. Dr. Nicolas Rüsch).
