Urban Gardening. Green. Glauchau.” in the programme “Sustainable Social Urban Development ESF Plus 2021 – 2027” of the European Social Fund. An adjustment shall be made subject to the approval of the funding requested.

Your Task

• Project administration and documentation
• Concept and offer development (conferences, workshops, project days) in the areas of environmental education, nature and climate protection for the three project areas (Mitmachgarten am Karlsweg, Bürgerwiese, Auszeitgarten am Schloss Hinterglauchau) for different target and age groups
• Planning and coordination of offers for children's groups and school classes in the green classroom in the Mitmachgarten am Karlsweg
• pedagogical support and support of project participants (e.g. children, school classes, co-professionals of all ages, long-term unemployed, social-time workers)
• Coordination of work assignments with participants in the Mitmach and Auszeitgarten (basic care, sowing, plants, harvests)
• Cooperation and networking with childcare and youth free time facilities, schools and other social actors in Glauchau
• ensuring the opening hours of the Mitmachgarten am Karlsweg
• organisation and implementation of publicly active events (e.g. young plant and seed exchange, holiday offers, Thanksgiving, etc.)
• Target group approach, participants' acquisitions and project-accompanying press and public relations

About the project

Gardens and parks meet a variety of social and ecological aspects. They are used for recreation and recreation of various target and age groups. Remaining in nature and coming into contact with it in different ways offers many people the opportunity for meaningful activities and compensation for the hectic everyday life. Body, mind and soul come to rest actively or passively. It is all the more important to protect and shape nature with it in times of climate change and urbanization, instead of pushing it further. In addition to self-building, each garden also contributes to nature conservation and biodiversity with the still smallest natural corner, for example with bee and butterfly pastures, nest boxes and insect hotels, bee and hedgehog houses, natural stone clusters etc. And by the way, you come into contact with people – through fence talks with the garden neighbour, experience, seed, plant and harvest exchange, neighbourhood aid etc. What works in the small ones, a municipality can also make use of sustainable (social) urban development, according to the intention of this district project. Under the motto “Creating city together. Together with Glauchau to make a little greener.” since 01.08.2024, three centrally located areas in the ESF Plus funding area for the Glauchau citizens of all ages have been created places of relaxation and exchange, as well as communication and encounter in accordance with nature. Through encounter, work and learning occasions, different generations are brought together, promoted voluntary and charitable engagement, taken into account urban climate and nature protection, acquired, expanded and/or passed on knowledge, supported self-worth, social and professional skills, and the public space is designed by innovative sustainable (after-)use concepts.

We expect you

Formal requirements:

• successfully completed educational training or a comparable qualification

Quality requirements:

• knowledge and experience in the fields of gardening, environmental and/or experience education desirable, training in these areas beneficial
• basic didactic know-how and methodological competence in the above-mentioned areas of advantage
• safe handling of MS-Office (standard software)

External requirements:

• basic interest in nature and species protection, natural value creation cycles, gardening, self-sufficiency etc.
• motivation and willingness to work mainly outdoors and with different target groups and age groups
• estimating and accepting basic attitude towards the target groups
• independent, structured and collegial working
• Individual initiative, conceptual thinking, willingness to design and creativity
• readiness for flexible working hours (optionally also on weekends)
• Responsibility and reliability
• Citizenship and high social competence
• Driving license class B and willingness to use your own car

Working time

• part-time (30 hours/week), flexible

• a payment according to the collective agreement of public service with assignment to the remuneration group S8b
• cooperation with and technical support of the area of responsibility by a second pedagogical project employee
• Annual special payment, annual pay
