The function ensures that the social-ecological sustainability requirements of GLS Bank are consistently and qualitatively integrated into the investment process. Through sound sustainability analyses, critical classification of external ESG information and active dialogue with issuers, the role of transparency, credibility and impact of sustainable investments is created. The function contributes significantly to strengthening the GLS fund offerings in terms of content, to sustainably advise fund management and to further position the GLS Bank Group as a quality leader and credible reference for social-ecological finance.

In this task, you will: You carry out social-ecological sustainability analyses and assessments for issuers and companies based on the GLS investment and financing principles and evaluate holistic ecology, social and governance. You analyze external sustainability material systematically, judges meaningfulness, quality and comparability and integrates it into your internal sustainability assessment. You advise fund management and internal stakeholders on sustainability, secure the implementation of sustainable criteria in the investment process and support the development of strategies. You actively communicate with issuers on sustainability topics, plan and accompany engagement processes and document their results. You take representative roles in internal and external bodies and represent the GLS Bank Group at customer events, specialist forums and industry events.

This is ideally brought with you: You have a completed university degree in economic, sustainability or environmental sciences and 3-5 years of relevant professional experience. You have comprehensive knowledge of the social-ecological assessment of companies and securities and can critically classify ESG information, ratings and reports. You know relevant regulatory frameworks (SFDR, EU-Taxonomy) and other requirements. You have expert knowledge in at least one relevant sustainability area and implement it in a practical way in analyses and advice. You convince with high analytical thinking, critical data assessment and very good English skills (ideally supplemented by another foreign language).
