On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), the Competence Center “PtX Lab Lausitz – Practical Laboratory for Power and Base Materials from Green Hydrogen” was founded in 2021 by the ZUG gGmbH and is constantly evolving. It supports policy, business, society and science on the path to greenhouse gas neutrality by linking the electricity sector with transport and industry sectors (PtX). The PtX Lab Lausitz acts as a knowledge platform, impulse provider and contact for industry, politics and science and is looking for a '*e Referent*in (w/m/d) for policy development and consulting – full time or part time, EG 13 (TVöD Bund)

The ZUG is a non-profit federal company with around 1,000 employees at the locations Berlin, Bonn and Cottbus. We implement national and international funding programmes on behalf of the Federal Government, operate competence centres and knowledge platforms. Your tasks

• They analyse the current state and the further development of the PtX market upheaval, as well as the relevant political, legal and economic frameworks, and evaluate existing policy instruments, regulatory requirements and the national and European policy landscape in terms of their effectiveness and development.
• Based on your analyses, you will develop policy instruments, strategies and concrete solutions that support PtX's market upheaval – from overarching political framework concepts to concrete proposals for the adaptation of legal and regulatory requirements and prepare your results in line with target groups, including policy letters, opinions, scientific contributions, studies, presentations and lectures.
• Their analyses and recommendations are addressed in particular to policy-makers at national and European level and to actors from science, business and civil society.
• They advise and support the competent ministry in the case of technical questions and, in particular, deal with short-term enquiries about the PtX market enquiry and design political specialist events, for example in Berlin or Brussels, and participate in their organisation and implementation.
• They represent the PtX Lab Lausitz to relevant stakeholders and strengthen the networking of the PtX Lab with actors from politics, science and industry at regional, national, European and international level.

Your profile

• Completed academic studies (Master, University Diploma or 1st and 2nd Legal State Exams), preferably in political, legal, economic science or a comparable subject
• Ideally relevant professional experience and well-founded knowledge of political or regulatory processes, also from a think tank, NGOs, a public institution, an association, a research institution or a policy-oriented organization -Expressed analytical competence and the ability to identify complex political, legal and economic relationships in a structured manner and strengths in interdisciplinary work and thinking
• High interest in environmental and climate protection issues, in particular in political, legal and economic implementation
• First knowledge in the field of PtX or green hydrogen or the transformation of the energy and industrial system are advantageous
• They communicate safely, address-oriented and convincing – both in writing and oral with very good language skills in English and German in word and writing
• readiness for occasional journeys at home and abroad
