The BBSR at the Federal Office for Building and Spatial Planning (BBR) is the Federal Institute's departmental research institute in the business area of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) for the areas of urban development, spatial planning, housing and construction. Within the duration of the contract, the scientific qualification in the form of a doctorate is expected and supported by the BBSR. For this purpose, about 70% of the weekly working hours are available, in which you are self-employed in dealing with the topic of your doctorate. With around 30% of your weekly working time, you will support the RS 1 Unit in its core tasks of research and development, as well as knowledge-based services, and thus gain practical experience in the work of a federal research institute. The written position includes the following tasks: Implementation of a PhD project for the creation of new data with “Small Area Estimation” and content analysis in a topic of the lecture or Implementation of a PhD project for the quantitative analysis of dynamic, small-scale processes and early detection of changes in a subject field of the unit. As part of the support of the RS 1, you will find the following tasks: Contribution to the extension of the method repertoire in the BBSR and support of method transfer within the BBSR Compilation of scientific papers and expert opinions as well as professional preparation and support of events and workshops developing analyses, cooperation with (regulatory) reports and opinions; Support in responding to Ad-Hoc requests and scientific policy advice Maintaining data and information bases and consulting in the development of data products Development of research applications for the acquisition of third-party funds

Expected a completed academic degree (University Diploma or Master) with quantitative orientation in the fields of geography, geosciences, social sciences, computer science, economy, statistics or a comparable degree a project sketch (max. 2 pages) in which you will present your doctoral project. An adjustment is made in the pay group 13 TVöD Bund, as far as the personal requirements are met. The employment relationship is limited to a maximum of three years.
