In recent years, highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses (HPAIV) have caused global devastating losses in the poultry industry and are also a threat to wild bird populations, mammals and humans. The project aims to carry out systematic monitoring, taking into account the health of animals, humans and the environment, in order to investigate possible transmission paths and the fate of the excreted viruses in the environment. In addition to HPAIV, the totality of influenza‐A viruses, further pathogens of zoonoses and other viruses present in farm animals, wild animals and the environment should be considered. The samples are examined virologically and molecularly. The detected viruses are subsequently characterized in further analyses. The tasks in this project include: sampling and collection of wildlife, farm animal and environmental samples, detection and quantification of influenza viruses and other viral infectious agents by molecular biological and virological methods, preparation of samples for nucleic acid sequencing, sequence analyses and phylogenetic analyses, quantitative PCR and RT-PCR, development and mismatch of laboratory protocols for Kot, Tup Production of Scientific Publications
