You are primarily responsible for the design, construction and optimization of data pipelines, data architectures and data interfaces for innovative AI applications (e.g. generative AI, RAG, machine learning, language processing, forecasting models) Here you take over the modeling, integration, transformation and quality assurance of large and heterogeneous data sources from different systems The development and operation of backend solutions to provide AI services for third-party systems and internal applications (e.g. REST APIs based on Python, Node.js or comparable technologies) are among your tasks You design and implement data interfaces and microservices to connect specialist applications and partner systems You work closely with other IT units and departments for identifying relevant data and their integration into AI projects. You monitor and document data processing and ensure compliance, data protection and data security In addition, you will work with the selection, introduction and continuous development of modern data and AI engineering tools and cloud technologies

completed studies of (economic) informatics, data sciences, mathematics or a comparable qualification; alternative multi-year professional experience in data engineering/data management Know-how in database systems (e.g. Oracle, MSSQL), ETL processes and cloud platforms (e.g. Azure) Experience in setting and operating backend services and interfaces (e.g. with Python, Node.js) to provide data and AI solutions for applications and third-party systems Good knowledge of programming languages such as SQL and Python; Experience with big data technologies, vector databases and embedding models of advantage Understanding AI, machine learning and analysis methods desirable Experience in the implementation of role and rights concepts, encryption and pseudonymization Analytical thinking and innovation joy combined with design and implementation strength Communication strength and enthusiasm for cooperation in interdisciplinary teams Joy of knowledge transfer and continuous personal and professional development
