(Senior) BI Engineer - MicroStrategy & Databricks BI (m/f/d)

Our business intelligence and analytics landscape continues to develop: MicroStrategy is today our central, company-wide BI platform with around 1,300 users. At the same time, we build a modern BI service based on our Databricks Lakehouse platform - without technology break between data storage and BI and with native AI and self-service capabilities (e.g. genius). In this role, you secure the stable MicroStrategy operation and actively shape the construction of our Databricks-based BI.

Your Together with our team, you will develop our business intelligence and analytics landscape - today with a focus on MicroStrategy - and create the basis for data-based decisions at Deichmann. You design, develop and optimise reports, dashboards and analytical applications for different disciplines. You take technical requirements, structure them and translate them into sustainable technical BI solutions. You advise our specialist areas as a competent contact person about reporting, key figures, data models and possible uses of our BI platforms. Together with the team, you will ensure the stable operation of our MicroStrategy environment and take over tasks in administration, monitoring, authorizations, deployment and quality assurance. You analyze disturbances, performance vulnerabilities and data queries and support our users. You can help build our Databricks-based BI service - for example when creating dashboards, in the data access governance (Unity Catalog), when setting up operating and full service processes, as well as when testing AI and self-service functions (genie). You help understand our proven MicroStrategy service and operating processes and gradually adapt them to the Databricks world. You are introducing your own ideas to continuously improve our BI platforms, our working methods and our analytics architecture.

Your You have a degree in computer science, data analytics or comparable training. You bring multi-year, relevant professional experience in business intelligence, reporting, data analytics or data warehousing. You have practical experience in developing reports, dashboards or analytical applications with a BI tool, ideally MicroStrategy. You have good SQL knowledge and a solid understanding of relational databases; first touch points with modern Lakehouse/Databricks concepts (e.g. Spark, Delta, Unity Catalog) are a plus - as well as the motivation to work on you here. You are keen not only to run an established platform, but to actively build up a modern BI environment and bring openness and curiosity to new data platforms. You understand data models, key figures logics and business relationships and can communicate them in a comprehensible manner. You work structured, analytic and solution-oriented, and you enjoy penetrating complex data and system relationships. You are happy to work in the team, bring a strong service orientation with you and help users with questions, problems and new requirements. You have very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing.
