Bachelor thesis - Development and validation of a rheological measurement method for evaluating the flow behavior of paints (m/f/d)

Why do some paints run off – and others don't? That's exactly what you're doing in your bachelor's thesis. The focus is on the development of a new rheological measuring method, with which it can be predicted from which layer thickness a lacquer tends to run. For this, you develop your own measuring job on the rheometer and combine rheological characteristics with real results from the application of the lacquer. To validate the developed method, you additionally work with an automatic painting robot that produces reproducible coatings and serves as a reference system. Thus, you compare rheological measurement data directly with the actual process behavior of the paints under practical conditions. The special: You not only work theoretically, you develop a practice-oriented method with direct application potential in the industrial environment. In addition, you validate the developed methodology with regard to meaningfulness, reproducibility and applicability.
