The Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research is a research facility supported by the Federal Republic of Germany, the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and the Länder of Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony with around 1,400 employees. In a broad multidisciplinary approach, we conduct polar and marine research and, in conjunction with numerous university and non-university research institutions, make an important contribution to global environmental, earth system and paleoclimate research. Financial Accountant:in parttime (x/m/w/d) Background In financial accounting, all transactions of the AWI are recorded from business relations to external (customer:inside, debtors:inside, creditors:inside) and the resulting changes in asset and capital relations. With the funds of the double bookkeeping carried out in the form of accounts, the financial accounting system arranges all business-relevant transactions that can be expressed in numerical values, taking into account legal regulations (in particular from the Civil Code (BGB) and the Commercial Code (HGB)) in terms of time and fact. It is booked on accounts that are included in the company's accounting framework and are divided into assets and liabilities accounts, expenses and earnings accounts according to the various sectors of the company. By aggregating the individual business operations, the financial accounting determines the data necessary for the compilation of the balance sheet and the profit and loss account (GuV) from which the asset, financial and profit situation of the enterprise can be identified for internal and external companies.

Conting and booking business incidents Conting and booking of payment inputs and outputs on the basis of account statements, including the payment inputs by invoice number and amount on the basis of existing accounts Processing credit card billing, clarification of queries Maintenance of master data of creditors and debitors clarification of facts and queries within the department and across the department in the settlement of receipts (costal and property account allocation) with the relevant specialist departments Verification of the VAT ID for invoices, tax allocation of individual business incidents exhibiting, holding and booking credits or Refunds based on relevant documents Active cooperation in internal and cross-departmental projects
