For the preparation, processing and analysis of animal brain tissue for microscopic examinations and imaging processes (e.g. digital slide scanning), we are looking for a dedicated and qualified Biological-technical assistance (BTA) (m/w/d) to strengthen our team in the field of histology/roanatomy at the next possible time****
Share of jobs: 100% The job is limited to one year with option for further employment.
Tasks
- Preparation of solutions and reagents according to standardized laboratory protocols
- Cutting tissue samples, performing immune stains and embedding and covering of preparations
- Organization, care and careful documentation of the storage of tissue and microscopy samples
- Management of the antibody and reagent stock including monitoring and timely reordering
- Conducting fluorescence microscopy on samples according to the scientific staff
- Support for maintenance of microscopy systems (sic production of cleanliness and refilling of consumables)
- Interest in – or ideally first experiences with – open and reproducible research
This will bring you
- Practical experience in dealing with histological devices, in particular cryostat microtomes for fabric cutting
- Knowledge of the treatment of tissue samples for microscopic analysis
- Experience with immunomarking techniques, e.g. immunofluorescence and chromogenic immunocoloration
- Safe handling of fluorescence microscopes is advantageous
- Interest in – or ideally first experiences with – open and reproducible research
- Careful, structured functioning as well as team skills and a high level of responsibility
