Research Assistant – Software Development and Artificial Intelligence / AI (all genders)

The teams of our research area »Digital Business« at the Fraunhofer Institute for Labour and Organization IAO in Stuttgart are working on innovative solutions in national and international research, development and consulting projects: Intelligent IT systems for the automation of business processes Artificial intelligence, including generic AI Digital assistance systems with voice and text understanding Our goal is to rethink workflows and tasks through automation and augmentation and to make them more efficient. For this we develop software solutions with AI components, such as digital voice assistance systems or AI-based analysis tools, which are based on the latest state of science and technology. Our customers come from a wide range of industries – from industrial companies to public institutions. In our research and industrial projects, you will perform the following tasks: Conception and development of application-oriented software platforms for the automation and optimization of work processes Development of innovative IT applications for digital assistance systems, decision support and knowledge-based jobs Design of AI-based solutions for automatic analysis and testing of complex documents with structured and unstructured data Development and optimization of algorithms based on machine learning and hybrid AI approaches

A completed university degree in computer science, software engineering, media informatics, electrical engineering or a comparable subject area Experience with modern software development methods and database systems Good programming knowledge in Java and/or Python Advantage: Practice in web development (HTML5, React, Angular) and in the DevOps environment Very good German and English A creative, team-oriented and reliable personality that has the pleasure of designing and implementing innovative IT solutions with its own ideas
