You are working on the research, selection and implementation of suitable approaches and methods relating to geometric vs. semantic environmental perception in the context of autonomous excavators You support the comparison of different sensors, concepts and algorithms and, when commissioned on the real test machine, you also You work with the design of a framework for using geometric or semantic features for real perception problems (e.g. objects in scrap piles or feature recognition in stationary plants) You use camera and/or lidar sensor technology in the existing software stack and implement a selected perception method for real problem setting. You carry out qualitative and quantitative analyses of the results and assist in deriving recommendations for further industrialization You work closely in the agile development team and bring your own ideas

Studies at a university or university in the fields of mechatronics, cybernetics, electrical engineering, robotics or a comparable course of studies Experience in at least one programming language, e.g. Python or C++, and ideally basic knowledge in Ros2 and Linux Knowledge of Perception, Lidar, Camera, Radar, SLAM desirable Communication and team skills Self-employed and structured work Good knowledge of German or good English in word and writing
