We at WBS IT Service ensure that the IT infrastructure and systems of our customers are protected against disturbances (e.g. by cyber attacks). We achieve this with our Security Operations Center (SOC). Our focus is on tailor-made IT security concepts that can be optimally integrated into the existing business processes of our customers. But not only our development as an IT security service provider is our heart – but also our employees. To strengthen our team, we are now looking for a SOC Analyst Tier 2 (m/w/d) in Leipzig. You have several years of professional experience as a SOC agent, do you know about threats, incident handling and with SIEM and SOAR? Then we look forward to your application!

Your new task:

• Monitoring and analysis of customer infrastructures: You monitor the IT security landscape of our customers through SIEM systems, EDR solutions and network monitoring tools. Analyze security-relevant events and investigate potential threats in real time.
• Incident Management and Escalation: You classify and process security incidents according to our defined processes and service-level agreements . If necessary, you will escalate complex cases to your teammates in Tier 3 and our Incident Response Manager.
• First Response and Threats: You implement first measures to contain cyber attacks, such as insulating affected systems or blocking harmful IPs. You always agree with the customer and document all steps transparently in the ticket system.
• Security Monitoring and Vulnerability Analysis: You support our customers through regular security scans, identify vulnerabilities in their IT infrastructure and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
• Document and customer communication: You create meaningful reports on security incidents, document analyses and give our customers clear recommendations for action. You also regularly inform about new threats and prevention measures.

You bring that with:

• Complete technical training or completed technical studies.
• Simplified and detectable professional experienceas Tier 2 SOC Analyst, in the above-described field of activity and in the field of network administration (Firewall, Routing and Switching).
• Finded knowledge and experiences in threat analysis, incident handling and malware analysis.
• Experiences in handling SIEM tools such as FortiSIEM, Wazuh, Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel and EDR tools, such as FortiEDR or Windows Defender.
• Deep understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows) and network protocols as well as the application of security best practices, cryptography and reverse engineering.
• Basic knowledge to**SOAR tools and ready-to-use knowledge in Scripting with Python**.
• Promote motivation and commitment to advance new topics in the areas of Security Operations Center (SOC) and IT security.
• High team and communication skills as well as reliable and independent working.
• German (at least C1) and fluent English (B2/C1).
