The Department of Neurology covers the entire spectrum in the treatment of acute and chronic neurological diseases. Stationary treatments take place at our normal stations, the neurogeriatry, a certified supra-regional stroke unit, an epilepsy monitoring unit and an interdisciplinary intensive care unit. The outpatient structures include daily clinks for multiple sclerosis, dementia and movement disorders, 12 university special ambulances, a section for pain therapy, an interdisciplinary emergency uptake, a study center, a neurovascular GBA stroke center as well as a GBA center for rare neurological diseases (ZSNE). In all these areas we offer a treatment based on the latest standards of care and current results of clinical and basic research based on national and international expertise in the fields of motion disorder, dementia, pain, stroke/fuse diseases, epilepsy, neuroimmunology and neurogeriatry.

We offer you an interesting workplace with the full level of training for the specialist and specialist neurology as well as additional further education in the areas of Geriatrie, Pain Medicine, Intensive Medicine as well as Specialised Curricula in Movement Disorders and Neuroimmunology in a home of university maximum care with a designated academic and innovative environment. In addition, training within the Clinician Scientist Programme is possible within the Clinician Scientist Academy Kiel.
