You will become part of a newly established, interdisciplinary team in the field of supporting systems. Your job: You support our insurance mathematics:inside and programmers, you need to develop a reference computer for quality assurance of actuarial calculations. For the background: for the management of our insurance contracts, we must accurately calculate the actuarial values of the contracts - for example premiums, provisions, buy-back values or balance sheet values. We use these values for internal calculations and planning, for the preparation of balance sheets, as well as for reporting to supervisory authorities. To calculate the actuarial values, we use the so-called computing core of our inventory management system. The calculation core determines the values based on tariff conditions, formulas and regulatory parameters that our insurance partners: deposit, update and customize when needed. To ensure that the computer core delivers correct results, we use a reference computer: a technically independent application for mathematical quality assurance, with which we reproduce the calculations of the computer core and compare the results of both systems. The reference calculator is used in the context of inventory assumptions (for the first time setting new tariffs), but also in the day-to-day business, when parameters of the computing core have to be adapted, as well as for the calculation and mathematical preparation of complex customer requests.
