Within the duration of the contract, scientific qualification is expected in the form of a promo­tion and supported by the BBSR. For this purpose, about 70% of the weekly working time is available, in which you are self-employed with the processing of your doctorate topic. With around 30% of your weekly working time, you can support the RS 1 Unit in its core tasks of research and development, as well as knowledge-based services, and thus gain practical experience in the work of a federal research institute. The described position includes the following tasks: Implementation of a PhD project for the creation of new data with ''Small Area Estimation'' and detailed analysis in a subject of the Unit or Implementation of a PhD project for quantative analysis of dynami­cal, small-scale processes and early detection of relationships in a field of the Unit As part of the support of the RS 1, you will find the following tasks: Contribution to the extension of the method repertoire in the BBSR and support of the method transfer within the BBSR Compilation of scientific papers and expert opinions as well as expert preparation and support of events and workshops developing analyses, cooperation with (regulatory) reports and opinions; Support in answering ad hoc questions and scientific policy advice Maintaining data and information bases and consulting in the development of data products Development of research applications for the acquisition of third-party funds

Expected: a completed academic degree (University Diploma or Master) with quantitative orientation in the field of geography, geosciences, social sciences, computer science, economics or statistics or a comparable degree a project outline (maximum two pages) in which you will present your doctoral project, including the following aspects: very good English knowledge and experience in writing English-speaking texts; the o. g. The weekly working hours are 39 hours per week for employees. The employment relationship is limited to a maximum of three years.
