The Klinikum Kulmbach is an advanced and successfully managed municipal hospital of the utilisation stage II with 540 beds and 13 occupation-leading departments, centres for age traumatology, endoprosthetics and spine as well as organ centres for breast cancer, colon cancer and prostate diseases. Our facility also has a certified regional trauma centre and a thorax centre. A Chest Pain Unit certified by the DGK is established in the area of emergency reception. The also certified Stroke Unit is connected to the Intermediate Care Station. Our prison clinic is certified by the rules of WHO and UNICEF as ''baby-friendly''. The medical care centres connected to the clinic complement the services offered. The Klinikum Kulmbach department also includes the Stadtsteinach specialist clinic with 87 beds and specialist departments for Geriatric and Orthopaedic rehabilitation as well as internal medicine with akutgeriatric treatment unit. The Klinikum Kulmbach is an academic teaching hospital of the University Hospital Jena and BeLA-Lehrkrankenhaus of the University Hospital Erlangen. The pediatrician (m/w/d) at the Klinikum Kulmbach is a contact person for the treatment of infants at our weekly stop with 22 beds. About 800 births per year are supervised in the family-oriented birth aid. They work in the team with experienced and specially trained health and child care professionals.
