Number: MER0004256 In the Surface & Corrosion Protection Unit, the entire vehicle is being digitized to provide solutions for digital addition and support for corrosion protection. The numerical simulation of corrosion processes plays a central role. In previous work, a viewer was developed to display the simulation results based on the volcanic API. The aim of the work student activity is to further develop this viewer in terms of functionality and usability. This is to be expanded and optimized so that the data flow from simulation input to the visualization of the results is ensured. The visualized data is triangulations with different labels and point clouds. These challenges include: Editing into the current code of the viewer

Implementation of planned further developments such as Splat Based Rendering or the display of pathlines

Regular GUI adjustments

Continuous performance optimization of the code
