For the Asklepios Klinik Barmbek from 01.09.2026 we are looking for an experienced:n and committed:n Leader:r Oberärztin/Oberarzt Thoraxchirurgie (w/m/d) The Asklepios Klinik Barmbek is a clinic of maximum care in the northeast of Hamburg. The Department of Thorax Surgery is one of the pillars of the Lungskrebszentrum Hamburg-Barmbek, certified according to DKG, embedded in one of the largest oncological centers (DKG) in Germany. There are close cooperations with the departments of pneumology & internalist intensive care and oncology & palliative medicine as well as the MVZ oncology in the home, radiotherapy is located in the immediate vicinity. There are also 3 intensive stations in the house, of which 2 are pneumologically run, including an independent weaning station. Furthermore, the pathology in the house is on site, so that quick-cut examinations can be carried out quickly. The lung cancer center is completed by disciplines such as radiology with CT and MRT 24/7 as well as psychooncology and respiratory therapy with an extremely dedicated team. A constantly evolving cooperation with neurology with regard to the treatment of myasthenia patients: inside (myasthenia center in the house) with robotic-assisted thymectomy expands the spectrum. Our department is in continuous construction and thus enables further development potential. At present, a job key of 2-2-2 will be approx. 400 thorax surgery with increasing tendency. In addition to standard techniques, the VATS lobectomy/segmentectomy is established, in addition robotic surgery with an increasingly broader indication spectrum (Da-Vinci system, Intuitive Inc.) with e.g. Two trained surgeons. Our department is characterized by a very collegial climate with extremely flat hierarchies. She is currently being run in a collegial system of 2 chief physicians.
