As Senior Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager:you are responsible for the occupational safety department at our logistics location in Gattendorf and run a team. You work closely with the local management on the continuous operation of the local occupational safety standard and coordinate the implementation of company-internal and legal requirements for occupational safety. You report to the WHS Regional Management in Germany. A day in the life As Senior Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager:you are responsible for the occupational safety department at our logistics location and run an approximately 8-person team (2 Safety Specialists / skilled workers for occupational safety and approx. 6 Safety Coordinators). You work closely with the local management on the continuous operation of the local occupational safety standard and coordinate the implementation of company-internal and legal requirements for occupational safety. You report to the WHS Regional Management in Germany.

Ensure compliance with German industrial safety laws and directives as well as company guidelines. Ensuring compliance with security programs such as Lockout Tagout, crash protection, fire protection, emergency procedures, evacuation. Development and implementation of work protection training programmes. Development and maintenance of programs for ergonomics, manual handling of loads as well as optimal workplace design. Complete the necessary formalities for compliance with German laws and its reporting. Evaluation of accidents and statistics and development of prevention programmes to avoid accidents. Promoting the commitment to work protection measures by management and employees, creating a work protection culture. Risk assessment of new processes and machines. Checking changes in standardised procedures and creating safety recommendations. Continuing the existing risk assessment. Establishment and maintenance of close cooperation with the local fire brigade and safety authorities as well as the professional association. Cooperation with the local works council according to §9 ASiG. Management of a sustainable incident investigation and reporting. Process auditing. Representation of the regional WHS manager in absence. Acquisition of supra-regional (DE/EU) projects to improve occupational safety.

Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in accordance with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Professional for Safety Certificate OR the willingness to complete this at Amazon - Amazon would take over the costs Experience in leadership of a team Advanced knowledge of German and English Preferred qualifications: Completed studies in a technical or safety field Multiannual occupational experience in the field of occupational safety Experience in the application of Lean, 5S or Kaizen methods Qualifications or experiences with environmental protection measures High communication, leadership and team skills JOBV1_EN
