The landscape association Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) is the carrier of a large healthcare provider for psychiatric and psychosomatic treatment and care. This LWL-PsychiatrieVerbund Westfalen comprises clinics, care centres, residential associations and rehabilitation institutes with about 6,800 treatment and care facilities for adults, children and young people. Around 14,000 employees treat and serve more than 180,000 people each year in more than 130 facilities and offices of the LWL-PsychiatrieVerbund Westfalen.

At the locations of Münster and Lengerich, the LWL maintains various psychiatric facilities with several external sites, which together form a regional network within the LWL-Psychiatrie Association of Westphalia. The LWL-Klinik Lengerich and the LWL-Klinik Münster with the respectively connected complementary devices LWL-Wohnverbund and LWL-Pflegezentrum at the clinic locations with a total of approx. 1,200 stationary and semi-stationary beds and seats as well as over 2,000 employees.
