As a medium-sized company with more than 50 employees, we specialize in the development, manufacture and distribution of cable laying machines and equipment as well as in the distribution of inflatable devices for micro and glass fiber cables.

In this key position, you take over not only the overall technical responsibility, but are actively driving forward the further development within the group of companies, as you are also part of the global leadership team for R&D coordination: Strategic technology development: development and implementation of a future-oriented technology and innovation strategy in line with group strategy and coordination with international locations (Switzerland, USA and Netherlands) Innovation and transformation projects: initiation and control of cross-group development projects (e.g. digitalization, automation, sustainable technologies) Technological development of the portfolio: further development and optimization of existing products and processes. Expansion of existing products to intelligent, data-based solutions and identification of new business areas Interface Management: Close cooperation with sales, purchasing and production to develop integrated customer solutions Leadership and development of the team: (4 employees at Thaler as part of the global engineering organization) Budget planning and control in the technical field Production & Quality: Ensure production-oriented design, including list of pieces (construction, ERP), improve quality, throughput times and serviceability, support in commissioning and problem solutions, create assembly and quality control instructions in coordination with the production team Compliance & standards: compliance with international standards (CE, UL, etc.), responsibility for safety and regulatory requirements Maintenance of Line (MOL) and improvement of product quality: Together with the teams of customer service, sales and service, we support product improvements and design adaptations to meet customer needs

Complete degree in mechanical engineering or comparable Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and motor technology desirable Professional experience in special machine construction/vehicle construction trailer construction desirable Knowledge of construction, production and project management Experience in medium-sized industry, ideally in mechanical engineering Outstanding analytical and strategic skills Multiannual experience in leading technical position, preferably in a group of companies or matrix organization Good user knowledge of SOLID WORKS Safe handling of MS Office and desirable with an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Navision) Good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
