IT Specialist - Linux / Network / Server Management (m/f/d)

You take care of and continuously develop the hardware-related IT infrastructure (servers, routers, switches, ...) at our locations in Aachen. This ensures the availability, performance and reliability of our systems. Your area of responsibility includes the planning, installation and lifecycle management of server and network hardware, including exchange of hardware or coordination of repairs with our service providers (ISP, air conditioners, electricians, hardware, etc.) Another focus of your activity is the support and further development of our storage landscape, including technologies such as Ceph and RAID. In addition, you will ensure a stable and secure operation of our network environment in the LAN and WAN areas. Analyze and eliminate disruptions in the IT infrastructure, especially in the areas of network, hardware and basic services. You work closely with other IT departments and ensure careful documentation of systems and processes. In addition, you manage and optimise our Proxmox virtualization environment.

You work independently, structured and responsible and you are a real team player with good communication skills. You have a completed vocational training, e.g. as a specialist informant or a study in the field of computer science or a comparable qualification – alternatively you convince as a cross-release and bring min. 5 years of relevant professional experience. You will bring well-founded knowledge of how to plan, operate and administrate server and network hardware as well as data center infrastructure and have very good knowledge in the areas of storage, RAID concepts and virtualization environments (ideally Proxmox) You know network technologies (routing, switching, VLANs, firewalling and VPN) and have already gained practical experience with dynamic routing protocols, especially OSPF. In an international environment you feel comfortable: you have both very good German and good English skills and do not hesitate to apply them.

For this position, depending on experience and qualification, we offer an annual salary between € 65,000 and € 75,000 gross.
