Manager (m|w|d) Operations Job ID 76343 | Location Kiel Your duties In your role, you will lead, coordinate and develop all areas of vehicle and component repair, painting and spare parts production as well as production planning and control at our Voith Turbo site in Kiel. You take full operational responsibility for the entire value chain from order control to component assembly, vehicle final assembly to delivery and performance control – supported by your shopfloor executives. The delivery dates required by customers, taking into account quality, costs and ECM-relevant security needs, are guaranteed. They analyze the workflows with the aim of continuously improving processes and functions. In coordination with the factory management, you formulate goals with regard to timeliness, quality, costs and railway safety requirements and maintain their achievement by means of your defined key figures. They are responsible for the cost center, personnel and budget planning for the entire Operations area. Compliance with and continuous improvement of occupational safety, environmental and energy targets is also within your responsibility.

Your profile You have a successfully completed study; at best in industrial engineering, as an alternative to mechanical engineering or production/production technology. You can present a multi-year professional experience in manufacturing or assembly. Ideally, you will bring well-founded experience in the railway sector, in particular in the maintenance according to ECM regulations, relevant DIN and TSI requirements and the implementation of safety and quality requirements according to VPI guidelines. They have proven leadership experience in the management of complex railway services or maintenance units with at least 100 employees, preferably in a regulated environment with high demands on time and quality. They have demonstrated that they have introduced Lean initiatives in the assembly or service sector and have led to a measurable increase in efficiency – inter alia by clocking, 5S, Gemba, Shopfloor cascade and standardized problem solution. We require very good knowledge of German and good English in word and writing. They have a high degree of process understanding, abstraction capability and analytical thinking, coupled with a pronounced problem-solving competence. In addition, you have a pronounced hands-on mentality, work closely with factory teams and shift leaders and drive forward changes in the shopfloor area with persistence, empathy and enforcement force.
