Supplier: Chair and Institute of Construction Management, Digital Building and Robotics in Construction The ICoM is one of the leading research institutes in the field of construction management and digital construction. Under the use of innovative technologies, the institute focuses primarily on building management, building robotics, digital transformation and circular construction. The emphasis is placed on linking science and practice to the development of new technical innovations and their implementation in cooperation with first-class industrial partners. The ICoM develops solution-oriented approaches for various project promoters and relevant stakeholders across the entire value chain of construction, both in the construction and in the infrastructure sector. In addition to research, the ICoM is actively engaged in the training of future engineers. At present, approximately 1,000 students from the courses of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Economic Engineering are supervised at the chair. Both in research and teaching, a holistic, life cycle-oriented approach is always being pursued to actively shape sustainable digitalization in the industry. As a doctoral student, you will work on current research projects in the areas of digitalization and automation in the building industry and will thus be able to actively promote and shape this future-oriented and particularly relevant topic. In this context, you will publish your results at scientific conferences and in recognised journals. The scientific further qualification (promotion) is expressly desired. In addition, your area of responsibility includes the supervision of courses and students as well as the acquisition of other institute-related tasks.

The activity requires excellent analytical thinking. We also expect a high target orientation, personal motivation, commitment and willingness to cooperate in a dynamic team. Business trips within the framework of (international) cooperation should also not be an obstacle to you. Joy in teaching and work with students is expected. A prerequisite for the recruitment is an above-average university degree (master or comparable) in the field of engineering or economic engineering with a focus on construction. Very good knowledge of German and English is essential. A number of professional experiences are advantageous, but are not assumed. The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be limited to 1 year. An extension of at least 2 years is planned. The temporary employment is carried out within the framework of the time-limits of the science-time contract law. It is a full-time job. There is a doctoral opportunity.
