As a rule, training as a tool mechanic (m/w/d) takes 3.5 years. In the case of very good training grades, there is the possibility of shortening the training also to 3 years. Tool mechanic (w/m/d) produced punching tools or injection moulds for the production of RADIA shaft sealing rings, AXIA sliding seals, oscillating and pneumatic seals. You work workpieces, e.g. by drilling, milling, turning, grinding and filing. You keep the measurements specified by the technical drawings exactly. With measuring and testing equipment, you control the dimensional accuracy of workpieces up to the range of a thousandth of a millimeter. In addition to traditional manual processing methods, you use CNC-controlled machine tools that you can program yourself. You are waiting and repairing damaged or worn tool parts and molds.
