In the Hybrid Intelligence (HI) department, we bundle the expertise of a dedicated team of scientists and work with partners from science and industry on innovative approaches and solutions for the current challenges in the application.

For our Finance and Legal Intelligence business, we are looking for an PostDoc Research Scientist at the next time.

What you do with us

• They develop and implement systematic evaluation methods for Large Language Models, create domain-specific benchmarks and perform comprehensive performance analyses to quantitatively evaluate and compare LLMs' problem solving capabilities.
• They design integrated system architectures that combine the strengths of Large Language Models with deterministic calculation methods and rule-based inference mechanisms in order to overcome complex combinatorial optimization problems, logical deductions and multi-stage analytical tasks in which pure neural approaches reach their limits.
• They explore and implement tool-aided agent systems that seamlessly integrate external calculation modules, databases and specialized algorithms to realize precise quantitative analyses and algorithmic problem solutions.
• You work in the team on research and development projects, document your results carefully and publish your research results in renowned journals and present them at international conferences.
• You are recruiting third-party funds to support your research projects.
• You take over the technical management of research projects.
• They design transfer services of research results in industrial applications.
• They develop and implement strategies for divisions of the department.
• You maintain customer relationships and conduct conversations with customers, taking account of account management for strategic customers and acting as a central contact person for all professional and strategic concerns.

What you bring

• A good or very good university degree (Master, Diploma) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or in a related field
• Excellent programming skills, especially in Python
• Experience in dealing with modern neural networks and large language models (LLMs) as well as familiarity with popular deep learning libraries and platforms such as PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy and Hugging Face
• Knowledge and practical experience in mathematical modeling, optimization and algorithm development in the fields of data mining and machine learning
• Recognisable scientific publications as a first or senior author in the field of machine learning or related fields are provided
• Experience in recruiting third-party funding for research projects is desirable
• Experience in managing projects and working with agile teams is required
• Flowing German knowledge (min. at level C2) with corresponding proof.
