Head of Energy Generation – Stadtwerke Schwerin (m/f/d)

In this key position, you connect the safe and efficient operation of existing plants with the transformation and targeted expansion of the production portfolio to future-oriented heat and power generation plants. In addition, you are responsible for the company-wide energy trade and the market-oriented self-marketing of production capacities. Through clear and targeted communication, you will design the further development of organisation and cooperation with your team. Operation and security of supply: You ensure the stable operation of the production plants by predictive maintenance strategies and are responsible for availability, plant condition and security of supply within the regulatory framework. Industrial control: Economically and efficiently control the production and are responsible for the use of power plants in interaction with energy trading. Strategy and Transformation: You develop the objective of sustainable energy production and transfer the transformation of the plant portfolio into concrete measures and construction projects. Investment and further development: With far-sightedness and implementation strength, you control investment and transformation measures and develop processes in the context of automation and digitalization. Leadership and cooperation: Cultural change, knowledge transfer and innovation joy characterize your leadership approach – you lead and develop a technical-commercial area, with around 65 employees divided into three groups, operating daily business and long-term change processes. Corporate Responsibility and Leadership: You contribute to the corporate strategy, provide impulses at the top management level and develop cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, in particular with bodies, authorities and politics.

With a completed engineering degree in the field of energy and process engineering, electrical engineering or comparable qualification, you are experienced in the operation and control of energy generation plants. Long-standing leadership experience in complex organizational structures with responsibility for several units and leadership levels as well as your sovereignty are the basis of your natural authority and high acceptance in the technical-commercial environment. With high commercial competence, experience in managing key figures and deep understanding of the energy markets (electricity, heat and CO2-certificate trade), you will approach projects entrepreneurially and without fear of target conflicts. In change management, you can convince with strategic strength, future-oriented visions and the ability to implement them – in a decision-making, structured and targeted manner. Clear, concise communication and secure appearance towards decision-makers, politics as well as internal and external stakeholders make you an estimated savings partner at all levels.
