Number: MER00047OB Mercedes-Benz Group AG is one of the most successful automotive companies in the world. With Mercedes-Benz AG, the vehicle manufacturer is one of the largest providers of premium and luxury cars and vans. Precise weight management is a key requirement for the certification, homologation and competitiveness of modern vehicles. You work in the team Lightweight Construction and Weight NPP and Series, which coordinates the weight-side development activities for the vehicles of the A, B, C, E, S-Class and electric vehicles from the concept book to the lifecycle end. Our work focuses on the responsibility for the certification weights of individual new product projects, model care and change years – worldwide. In weight management, you have contact with any department and gain a comprehensive insight into different disciplines such as Rohbau bodywork, interior, design, chassis, electrical and electronics as well as powertrain. You work in a group of 3 to 4 interns. The focus is on the tracking of weight changes, the evaluation of vehicle weighing as well as the resulting checking and securing of all weight values – usually half a year. We continuously question the weight of components and systems in order to detect deviations at an early stage and to secure the certified weights in a durable manner. Lightweight construction is still part of our work, but takes a significantly smaller share of the currently cared for and is not the primary focus. With a hospiance in a neighboring team, you can gain valuable insights into specific lightweight design strategies and measures. These exciting tasks await you: Evaluation and processing of results of vehicle weighing Tracking and documentation of weight changes across projects, model care and change years Support in the review and plausibility of certification weights Analysis and assessment of weight-relevant measures Participation in the preparation and implementation of weight claws and the competitive analysis As part of Hospitanzen you will also gain insights into our production, the museum, a real crash, wind tunnel, climate channel and vehicle testing on the test track The activity can start from October 2026.
