Head of IT Governance (m/f/d)

The public insurance company Braunschweig looks back on over 270 years of company history. It is the market leader in its business area, which includes the entire former Braunschweig country. Approximately 350,000 customers are served in one of the most dense branch networks in Germany – and thus almost every second resident in the region. In this role you assume the technical and strategic responsibility for the IT governance of our house. You lead an experienced specialist team, develop our IT governance and IT compliance structures and actively contribute to the strategic orientation of IT.

As a permanent member of the IT management board, you are instrumental in aligning regulatory requirements, economic governance and a sustainable IT organization.

You assume the overall responsibility for IT governance issues and set clear guidelines for secure, economic and regulatory IT. Your focus: · Total responsibility for IT governance and ensuring IT compliance · Responsibility for the process of creating, updating and controlling the IT strategy in close cooperation with IT architecture, IT management and specialist areas · Permanent membership in the IT management board and active participation in the strategic orientation of IT · Strategic development of governance structures and processes as well as the associated control instruments · Responsibility for IT risk management and the implementation of regulatory requirements for IT (e.g. DORA) · Control of central governance and management processes such as IT controlling, IT purchasing and contract and provider management · Ensuring effective change, release and test processes · Accompanying internal and external audits and continuous optimization of governance structures · Leadership and further development of an established team of experienced specialists

You are an experienced leader with a secure sense of governance, regulation and organisation – and keep track of complex issues. Take this with you: · Complete study of (economic) informatics or a comparable qualification with multiannual professional experience · Management experience of internal and external employees · Knowledge of IT governance, IT compliance and IT risk management · Experience in handling regulatory requirements for IT, ideally in the financial sector · Understanding business relationships and IT controlling processes · Analytical, structured and solution-oriented mode of operation · Sovereign appearance, clear communication and pronounced team orientation Of advantage, but no need: · Knowledge of the insurance or financial sector · Experience with established governance frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ITIL) · Practice in contract, license or provider management We wish diversity and are also pleased to receive applications that do not fit 100% of the profile.
