Automation Engineer – Project Responsibility (m/f/d)

Our client is a globally active technology company in plant engineering and specializes in automation, drive and digitization solutions for the metal industry. At the newly established location in the Ruhr region – right in the heart of the European steel region – a powerful engineering team is currently being created with the clear aim of concentrating on regionally modernizing and automation projects for well-known industrial customers and implementing them at the highest level technically.

In order to strengthen the location, a technically experienced personality is now sought, which as an engineer takes over automation technology (m/w/d) with project responsibility challenging projects in the plant and process automation environment. In this role, you bear the operational responsibility for automation projects – from technical clarification to engineering activities to implementation and commissioning. You do not act as a classic coordinator, but are professionally deeply involved, work actively in engineering and manage projects in close coordination with customers, internal departments and cross-site project teams.

The position offers a lot of design space: You work directly on the further development of the site, work closely with the site management and take progressive responsibility for more complex projects. A hand-on-personality, which understands technology, takes responsibility and projects not only plans, but also implements them.

Technical and operational responsibility for automation projects in the plant and process automation environment – from technical clarification to implementation and commissioning Active cooperation in engineering: technical development of automation solutions, detailed clarifications, coordination of concepts and interfaces Independent control of projects with regard to technical content, appointments and quality – always in close coordination with customers and internal departments Technical coordination of project participants (e.g. subproject management, automation engineers, application engineers) Close cooperation with the location management as well as cross-site project teams Monitoring of construction sites and commissioning – project-dependent and moderate travel Creation of project-related technical documentation as well as punctual support in the training of operators Active participation in the further development of the site and the establishment of efficient technical and organisational processes

Complete studies in electrical engineering, automation technology or comparable Multiannual professional experience in the technical engineering environment of automation or plant engineering, ideally with project-related responsibility Funded technical understanding in automation technology (e.g. switching systems, drive technology, control and control systems) Willingness to take on technical project responsibility and actively shape projects Hands-on-Mentality and joy in advancing technical issues Structured, pragmatic working and clear communication in the project environment German and English skills Moderate readiness for construction sites and commissioning operations in the region, driving licence class B
