Senior Patent Counsel (m/f/x)

As Senior Patent Counsel (m/f/x) you are a business partner for one or more of our business units. Here you will consult and supervise various IP topics (such as patents, business secrets, IP clauses in contracts, FTO analyses and legal stability credits). They actively participate in tesa's patent strategy and work independently in a highly qualified team with Patent Counsel and Paralegal. Your tasks include: Development and implementation of patent strategies of business units for products and technologies Development of patent portfolios for new technologies and active portfolio management to increase value and quality Risk management by ensuring FTO for new developments, including identifying risks and developing concepts for minimizing them Defence of patents against claims/negotiations and enforcement of our property rights (IPR) to secure and expand market position Implementation of IP-Due-Diligence for takeovers or cooperations, incl. Assessment and evaluation of the opportunities and risks of potential IP assets Legal advice on IP-related topics such as licensing agreements, technology transfers and confidentiality agreements to mitigate legal risks and protect IP assets

Complete university studies in chemistry with knowledge in polymer chemistry and ideally process engineering Approval as European Patent Attorney (m/f/x) and/or Patent Approval (m/f/x) Multiannual professional experience as a patent Counsel in an industrial patent department or firm with international orientation Advanced knowledge of German and European patent law, knowledge of US and Chinese patent law of advantage Ability to easily and understand complex legal and technical matters Strategic thinking and analytical approach with a pronounced sense of pragmatism High operational readiness, team capability and safe occurrence Communication strength, also in English
