The GSI Helmholtz Centre for Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerator systems for science. Be part of the three-headed core team for organisational and operational fire protection. You will be supported by the close cooperation with other specialist experts from other departments who are responsible for building and plant fire protection.

Consultation & Project Management: Safety technical advice on all aspects of fire protection during operation and within the FAIR project Active support in the production of fire-protection assessments Regular participation in Jour-fixe terminals at the FAIR building site as an integral part of the project agreement

Operational fire protection & emergency management: organizing and carrying out fire protection efforts as well as monitoring compliance with safety-relevant regulations, e.g. keeping escape and rescue routes, safety markings (prevention) Processing fire alarm shutdowns and hot-working applications, and monitoring the effectiveness and compliance of specified protective measures Planning, organizing and, where appropriate, carrying out training and instruction, in particular the training of fire protection and evacuation aids (according to DGUV Information 205-023) Ensure the implementation of planned measures in fire or fire Risk and participation in emergency call readiness Representation of other fire protection officers in absence.

For this safety-critical position, we are looking for a personality that also keeps an overview in stressful situations and brings leadership from practice. Compulsory conditions are: completed technical vocational training (and ideally a relevant training for masters or technicians) Fire-fighting qualification: training at least to the group leader*in (voluntary fire brigade), medium fire-fighting service or comparable good communication skills, excellent knowledge of German and good English in word and writing and desire for cooperation in an international environment. In addition, it is desirable: Training for the fire protection officer according to vfdb Directive 12/09-01 or equivalent multiannual relevant professional experience in preventive fire protection Experience in communication with authorities and a secure and binding occurrence in Jour-fixe terminals Breath protection device suitability according to G26.3. further relevant trainings and specialist customers, e.g. for firefighter plans, escape and rescue plans, radiation protection, portable gas warning devices, firefighter equipment maintenance, etc.
