The City of Ulm is looking for a veterinarian at the closest possible time – focus on animal welfare (m/w/d) Full time, unlimited Regular weekly working hours are 19.5 hours in the employment relationship or 20.5 hours in the civil service. The Veterinary Office of the City of Ulm, based in the Danube Valley, is responsible for a variety of tasks in public veterinary matters. A focus is on monitoring compliance with animal welfare regulations in agricultural, commercial and private animal husbandry. Payment is made up to 14 TVöD or according to grade A14.

Your tasks: Implementation of animal welfare controls in agricultural, commercial and private livestock and in animal transport independent technical and legal assessment of animal welfare issues and the provision of appropriate measures to eliminate identified violations Compilation of expert opinions and court-proof opinions on animal welfare violations and cooperation with prosecutors and courts Compilation of legal opinions as a carrier of public interest, for example in the case of works applications for stables Acquisition of further tasks in public veterinary matters as needed

Your profile: Senior Consultant (m/w/d) well-founded knowledge of national and European animal welfare law as well as knowledge of adjacent animal health and veterinary medicine law knowledge in public veterinary and/or experience in official enforcement secure judgment as well as independent, responsible and structured procedures communication and conflictability as well as a factual and deescaling occurrence even in difficult situations Teamability and the ability to act professionally and in vain situations Ready to use flexible operations outside regular working hours safe handling of MS Office applications and willingness to incorporate into specialist software very good knowledge of German in word and writing Class B valid driving licence
