The body shall be suspended in full and part-time as of 01.06.2025 for at least 24 months. Remuneration takes place according to the classification rules of the respective domestic collective agreement A.P. and is possible in the case of the personal condition in the remuneration group A3.

The director of the department has the full training authorization for the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery as well as the additional name hand surgery at the SLÄK. The university department represents the field of plastic and hand surgery in both patient care, research and teaching at the UKD. The focus of the department is the acute traumatology of the hand (incl. 24 hours readiness for replantation), the elective hand surgery, the reconstructive microsurgery, the treatment of thermal injuries (without center indication for adults) and the body formation after weight reduction. In addition, there is a very close cooperation with the supraregional university breast center, the oncological center (NCT), the child-surgical center with 2 seriously injured beds at the UKD and the heart centre of Dresden. In addition, since 1.1.2024 there has been a close cooperation with the Dresdner St. Joseph-Stift, a confessional hospital of basic and regular care.

The position includes clinical activity as an upper physician for plastic and aesthetic surgery - if appropriate also with the supervision of the research area and outpatient operations. Other tasks are personnel planning, the self-responsible care of patients in the stationary and outpatient areas, the execution of speech hours in the special ambulance and the consiliar care of other departments. In addition, independent operations, participation in call services, and participation in expert opinions are expected. In addition, the body also includes additional tasks such as the study of current literature and active participation in congresses, the support of students, lecturers and the support of doctoral students. There is also the possibility of further training and obtaining the additional name 'hand surgery'.
