Collaboration in building and establishing a new metabolic research group focusing on diabetes, obesity and age-associated endocrine dysfunction carrying out metabolic analyses in mouse models (e.g. glucose and insulin tolerance tests, energy conversion, body composition) Implementation and application of cell culture and island cell models including functional characterization performing electrophysiological studies (e.g. patch-clamp) for analyzing ion channel-mediated signal processes experimental investigation of TRP-GPCR signal paths and downstream signal axes (e.g. Ca2+, mTOR, AMPK, PI3K / AKT signal paths) Conducting pharmacological studies and active substance screenings and participation in publications and teaching
completed university studies and doctorate in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular medicine or a related subject Experience in at least one of the areas of metabolic phenotyping, island cell biology, signal transduction or pharmacology of ion channels / GPCRs Willingness to work with animal models (including corresponding qualification or acquisition of the same) Experience with cell-biological, electrophysiological or pharmacological methods high self-motivation, team skills and interest in translational research very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
