Test technician / technician for the plant operation of research and test facilities (m/f/d)

You maintain and operate the existing AgraSim test facility and ensure safe, reliable and reproducible plant operation to answer socially important research questions, in particular how climate change affects agricultural systems. You monitor process and measurement data, interpret them with regard to plausibility and plant condition and initiate appropriate measures in the event of deviations or disturbances. Your tasks include maintenance, repair and replacement of sensors, actuators and electrical and mechanical components, including electrical wiring, connection work and signal wiring. The system includes various media supplies (e.g. gases, liquids), pipeline systems and several PLC-based controls. Knowledge of the handling of automation systems and data communication is desirable, but not absolutely necessary. In addition, you coordinate work of external service providers, coordinate closely with scientists and the technical team and communicate project-related in English. Your tasks in detail: Supporting, operating and ensuring the reliable operation of an existing experimental plant in the field of research Monitoring, analysis and interpretation of measurement and process data for assessing the plant condition and for early detection of disturbances Maintenance, repair and replacement of sensors, actuators and mechanical, electrical and measurement components performing electrotechnical work, in particular cabling, connection and signal wiring of sensor systems, actuators and measurement systems Work on media supplies (e.g. gases, liquids) and piping systems handling of PLC-controlled systems; Reading and tracking of control sequences (programming not absolutely necessary) Participation in data communication and connection of measurement and control systems Coordination and professional support of foreign companies and coordination of external works Close cooperation in the interdisciplinary team of technology and science Documentation of operating conditions, work and changes to the plant

Complete training as technicians for e.g. electrical engineering, mechatronics or comparable professional experience and qualification experience in operation, in the maintenance or maintenance of technical installations, ideally in the research or industrial environment Knowledge of electrical engineering (wiring, connection technology, measurement signals) as well as sensor technology and actuator technology Mechanical understanding and practical experience in handling pipelines and screw connections Basic understanding of automation and PLC systems as well as technical data communication Ability to evaluate measurement data and identify technical relationships Self-employed, structured and responsible work Impressed team skills and communication strength in handling internal and external partners Very good knowledge of German and English (at least B2 level according to the GER: https://go.fzj.de/language) It would also be desirable: Car guide ticket
