Shift Manager in Schortens (m/w/d)

In our 11-week internal onboarding program, you will be prepared for your new task as a manager. After this extensive incorporation, you take responsibility for your own team and ensure that our customers receive your goods on time and in good quality. In this position you are an important part of our global company and work hand in hand with your employees on site. In addition, you work on topics such as work security, process optimization, sustainability and technical progress across the site.

About the team Amazon Logistik (AMZL) is responsible for delivering millions of products from our customers directly to the doorstep. The “Last-Mile Logistics” delivers our packages in partnership with third-party providers and implements numerous initiatives for continuous improvement to satisfy millions of customers. Our goal is to make the delivery experience for our customers as smooth as possible and to introduce global delivery solutions for our latest offers, including Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon restaurants.

Our work can be divided into two divisions. “Under the Roof” covers everything that happens within our logistics locations and “On the Road” covers everything that happens in the delivery areas on the road. Our employees prepare the packages in appropriate layers (night, early, late) for daily shipping to our delivery teams and take care of returns that could not be delivered. Every year we set new standards in terms of customer experience and offer new, innovative delivery services. We are looking for new ways to overcome industry-wide logistics challenges, as well as new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint. We support a fleet of innovative vehicles (including e-vehicles) and state-of-the-art technology.

Ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations and environmental protection deriving recommendations for action and concrete measures for process improvement based on key figures such as occupational safety, productivity and quality Management and training of a team (up to 100 employees) Planning and control of internal processes Participation in overarching projects to optimize customer satisfaction Effective resource and workflow management Cooperation with local upstream and downstream departments

A day in the life You work in one of our layers (spring, late or night shift). Keeping the security standards at your entire location is the highest priority for you. As a shift management, you routinely carry out team meetings and conduct feedback talks with your employees and your stakeholders. With the help of data evaluations, you influence the productivity and quality of your location. As an important member of the team on site, you work with other departments, as well as external stakeholders, ensuring that we meet the requirements of our customers, as well as our own requirements at any time. By analyzing data with executives and discussing the operational advantages and disadvantages of technical improvements with the specialist departments, you contribute to “best in class” solutions.
