Become part of the DZNE and support us in realizing our research strategy! dzne.de Senior Consultant (m/w/d) Code: 1502/2025/12 In the field of population-related health research in Bonn, the position as a doctoral student (m/w/d) in full-time pharmacoepidemiology is to be filled in support of our interdisciplinary team and initially for 3 years. Our goal is to explore healthy ageing: Why do some people show less age-related decline than others? What factors affect health and disease throughout life? And how can we support healthy aging? Our research is mainly based on the Rhineland study, a prospective cohort study focused on deep phenotyping of the participants. The cohort currently comprises more than 12,000 participants and data from more than 5,000 participants from the first regular follow-up. The comprehensive data collection includes detailed structural and functional imaging of the brain, cognitive testing, cardiovascular investigations, the examination of sensory systems, questions on medical history, lifestyle, nutrition and mental health, the collection of medicines and the collection of biomaterials. In addition, we already have extensive biomarker data. We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious scientist (m/w/d) who wants to complete his PhD in the field of pharmacoepidemiology and will have an active role in a major international research project.

Pharmacoepidemiology is an important research area within the Rhineland study, in which data on drug use can be linked to various clinical, imaging, biochemical and generic data. You will be involved in several projects in this field. In addition, you are actively involved in a major international project dealing with the reduction of drug waste in water. The project aims to address the problem of drug residues through close cooperation between experts from 7 countries in North-Western Europe from the pharmaceutical and water sectors. In this project, the DZNE is responsible for the activities in the pharmaceutical sector in Germany and you will play an important role in this. In addition, take part in national and international scientific conferences and write scientific publications.
