The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is Amazon's front-line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and responsible for delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure within the data center environment in a specific location. - Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
- Operate maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
- Troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within SLAs
- Perform limited maintenance, repair and audits tasks
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
- Manipulate small wees and objects
- Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
- Collaborating effectively with internal & stakeholders external to deliver operational excellence
- Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and save part inventory
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or presuming maintenance
- Draft, update & maintain method statements, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, implementation maintenance programs, and all technical documentation governing DCEO
- Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies
The role requires a highly driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to complex technical problems. This position requires frequent site interventions, critical switching, along with troubleshooting and fixing infrastructure issues. The role would suit someone who enjoys working in a ‘hands on' capacity on Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure search as diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's, PDU's, Chillers, Pumps, AHU's, fire detection systems and building automation systems. - 3+ years of critical infrastructure maintenance or operational experience on mechanical or electrical systems in a mission critical environment (i.e. Data Center, telecom, Oil and Gas Plant, etc.)
- Good English verbal and written communication skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
